Napoleon Total War -------------- Austria Campaign
Yesterday I finally finished my marvelous Prussia Campaign. It was really great! The whole Europe is conquered under my hands after several months of severe battles and diplomatic actions! Can you see the hard work and the joy behind?
Today I have started the Austra Campaign- I chose the campaign difficulty to be hard and the battle difficulty to be normal. I can never imagine how die-hard is a hard mode campaign is!
I got started with the regions of Austria, Venice, Hungary, Crotia, Moravia, Bohemia, Bavaria, and Galicia. At the very beginning, that mighty Napoleon, the fiercest monster in Europe, invaded Bavaria. My forces are not able to stop them, as I only had a amount of about a third of his army forces situated at first. Then, I crossly ordered on the transcription of new infantry and artillery units to an extremely huge quota in my capital, Vienna. After several turns, I was told that my taxes were too heavy and the population in my empire (except Austria) was claming for a reform! How frustrating! I really don't wish to see revolutions, so I had no choice but cancel the further subscriptions in Vienna.
After another few turns, I couldn't find any movements by that monster Napoleon, so I declared war on the Ottoman Empire ( an ally of France). Initially I thought it was easy to invade Ottoman Empire as it was nicknamed the "Sickman in Europe" by my History teacher in F3. However, I was wrong again. The Turks mobilised all peasants and adapted a guerilla tactic on my troops! My dear Archduke Charles, with 80000 Austrian troops, were suffering from a far more greater number of guerillas!
As my main force is stuck out of the gates of Istanbul, that nasty Napoleon suddenly attacked on my western front and went directly to Vienna! It was a diasaster becuase there were only national guards left in Vienna by me, which were very poor in quality. Napoleon's army fought like lions, accompanied by some famous marshals such as Soult, Ney, Berthier and Murat , they were NOT to be matched by ordinary armies! and their morale were several times higher than mine! The most frustrating event to me was that The Russian troops nearby, led by Kutuzov, was too coward-like and refused to help me. It was no doubt that I was going to lose.
My capital Vienna was captured in a few turns, and my main fores were not able to come back and rescue on time. I lost the campaign to that nasty Napoleon. It was so lucky that Mozart was dead in 1791, or else he might be captured by the savage French army too !
